Modern technology gives us many things.

Medical Isolation Transformer Designed to Your Specifications

When it comes to medical equipment, precision is everything. You need to know that your equipment is reliable and will maintain power in just about any situation. With customized medical-grade toroidal transformers, you can gain peace of mind that your hospital, research facility or biomedical applications have the power for stable operations.

While our standard line of medical-grade transformers are excellent options for protection from power outages and surges or to isolate equipment from the power source, sometimes you need a customized transformer to meet specific application requirements.

Regulatory Considerations

Our team can design, test and construct medical-grade transformers that are in compliance with all industry regulations while considering important regulatory requirements such as:

  • Maximum patient leakage current
  • Maximum enclosure leakage current
  • Minimum creepage distance
  • Maximum temperature rise at load and at overload
  • Limited maximum earth leakage current
  • Maximum patient auxiliary current
  • Minimum air clearance
  • Minimum 4 kV isolation between primary and secondary windings

The Customization Difference

All of our custom medical-grade transformers are built in ISO 9001:2015 certified facilities and can be customized for requirements including higher rated power output, custom terminations or harnesses and special voltages.

Our engineers create custom transformers for medical equipment that might require unique modifications to meet your specs, including:

  • 4 kV isolation between primary and secondary windings
  • Specific primary and secondary voltages
  • Custom mounting and special enclosure requirements
  • Insulation systems including Class A, B, F or H
  • Up to 15 kVA for single-phase power and 45 kVA for three-phase power output requirements

By working directly with our team, you can ensure that your custom medical-grade transformer delivers reliable power in even the most unique and challenging circumstances. After all, medical equipment requires production that goes above and beyond.

Our Experience

Medical equipment requires transformers to meet strict reliability and safety standards. We specialize in toroid medical grade isolation transformer models that will last the life of your equipment, continually providing proven protection and power.

Our Solutions

Our standard toroid medical grade transformer series is designed for a 120/240 V, 50/60 Hz input, and they’re equipped with dual 120 V outputs. We offer various VA power ratings ranging from 100 to 5000 VA. This line carries UL/c-UL recognition to applicable standards. Furthermore, Amgis has obtained a CB Test Certificate to IEC 60601-1 3rd edition for this line, which allows our products to be incorporated in medical products intended for use in Europe.

We have also developed a line of enclosed toroid medical grade isolation transformer for North American applications. Our MEDBOX medical isolation transformer product line has obtained a UL listing, a testament to the dependability of our transformers. The MedBox products are designed for a 120 V, 60 Hz input and are equipped with various 120 V outputs, depending on product power rating. We have five VA power ratings readily available: 300 VA, 600 VA, 900 VA, 1200 VA and 1800 VA.

In addition to our standard line of medical grade products, we can also design a custom medical grade toroidal transformer to meet your specific input and output requirements.
